QuickTrip Development

QuickTrip (QT) Gas Station is looking to rezone the property adjacent to WWN in-between the 485 on ramp and our Lake Spring Ave. entrance. The property is approximately 12 acres and currently zoned for apartments or townhouses. QT came to the HOA board 2 years ago to discuss the area. At the time, QT was interested in the property directly across from the Lake spring entrance. NCDOT did not approve the road changes QT required for that property so rezoning plans were dropped. QT approached the HOA board again early last year to inform us they were now looking at the property adjacent to WWN. It is a much larger property than they need so the want to develop the remaining portions but wanted to engage WWN to better understand what the community might tolerate. We met with them 3 times for about 30 mins. each meeting. They shared their plans and we provided feedback, asked questions, and raised various concerns.

In order for QT to move forward, it all hinged on NCDOT approving significant road changes. QT received that approval and has begun the rezoning process. That process starts with a community meeting where they meet with concerned property owners and neighborhoods with in a certain range of the property in question. The first meeting was held on Tuesday, January 9th. They have since held a number of meetings with a small group of WWN homeowners who have property impacted by their rezoning. They are working through plans, concerns, etc.

Below are a number of attachments and links to share with WWN if you have an interest in the project and/or process or you want to contact QT Representatives:
